Student arrested for carrying loaded firearm at Elk Grove High School

(FOX40.COM) — Sacramento County Deputies and Elk Grove Police responded to Elk Grove High School for a possible student carrying a firearm on Thursday morning.

According to a post on X by the Sacramento County Sheriff, a 16-year-old student was being escorted to the front office with school staff when he started to resist and pull away from officers who were trying to handcuff him.

After a search, officials said that they found a loaded gun located in the student’s backpack.

Sacramento Sheriff said the student has been taken into custody and booked into Juvenile Hall for several charges as well as having an unserialized firearm on campus grounds.
