Subnautica 2’s New Map Features Over Its Predecessor Has Fans Ready to Throw Their Money at the Screen

When you talk about action-adventure survival games set in the underwater world, one name that comes to mind is Subnautica. This long-hailed title made its entry in the gaming arena a decade ago, and since then has been winning the hearts of all the players for its flora and fauna aesthetics.

Now, the excitement level is sky-high as Unknown Worlds has recently announced Subnautica 2. And this excitement is going to reach a whole new level as a developer of the game has teased us with an important detail.

Subnautica 2 Map Will Be Bigger Than Its Predecessor

After the announcement of Subnautica 2, a fan asked Unknown Worlds developer Scott MacDonald about the size of the map in the upcoming title on Twitter. He asked if the map in the early access version of the successor is going to be bigger than the one in its predecessor.

The beginning of the reply from MacDonald might feel a bit dry as he didn’t go into any detail about the map size. But he then went on to make fans happy as he assured that once the game reaches its full release, it will be “bigger and deeper than SN1.”

He also claimed that making the successor bigger than the predecessor is the main goal. Now, the early access version will tell what lies ahead for the fans. Despite the absence of any exact details about the map, fans are still hyped up due to the assurance provided by the developers.

On the other hand, this fan is rooting for the developers to make a significant change in the map of the upcoming game, as the one in Below Zero was tight and cramped.

Besides a bigger map, this fan wants a new mechanic in the game to resist fast processing.

This fan too has a special request to the developers. He wants the devs to expand the area realistically, not just putting caves all around.

This fan wants more open areas in the upcoming game as the baseless depth in the first game was horrific. However, the predecessor of the upcoming game often felt like a horror game. He also criticized the claustrophobic atmosphere in Below Zero.

The Bigger Map Will be Enjoyed Best in Popular VR Consoles

We have seen how Subnautica and Subnautica: Sub Zero unleashed their potential with an immersive VR experience. The franchise has always supported mods, and VR mods were one of them. No surprise, the upcoming title will also feature various mods, and with that, players can experience the game in virtual reality.

But when you talk about VR games, Xbox consoles never come on the same page. And the upcoming title won’t be available on PlayStation either, so there’s no chance you can play it via PSVR as of now.

That is why this highly anticipated game needs to come on the Meta Quest or the Oculus VR, which will unlock the maximum potential of the game. And as the game is going to feature a bigger and deeper map, then its gameplay on VR is going to be just awe-struck.
