Team USA skateboarder Nyjah Huston slams the quality of his Olympic bronze medal
A skateboarder has taken to social media to share the “rough” quality of his Olympic medal, just a week after winning it.
Nyjah Huston, 29, won the bronze medal for Team USA in the men’s skateboarding street final last week, with the gold medal going to Japanese competitor Yuto Horigome and the silver to fellow American Jagger Eaton.
Huston is one of the highest paid skateboarders in the world, having won multiple gold medals at the SLS Super Crown World Championships and X Games.

He took to Instagram on Friday to share his thoughts on the quality of his newly won Olympic medal.
“These Olympic medals look great when they are brand new,” he told his 5.3 million followers.
“But after letting it sit on my skin with some sweat for a little bit, and then letting my friends wear it over the weekend…they are apparently not as high quality as you would think.”
The skateboarder then flipped the camera around for a closer inspection of the bronze medal.
“I mean, look at that thing. It’s looking rough,” he said.
The wear and tear of the piece in undeniable, with Huston showcasing the chipping on the front and back of the medal.
“Even the front, It’s starting to chip off a little”

“So Yeah, I don’t know, Olympic medals have got to, maybe, step up the quality a little bit”
The USA star then followed up post with healthy level of self-awareness, acknowledging the wear and tear could of been a result of mistreating the prestigious award, or as he put it, too much “send.”
“I guess the medals are meant to be in cases. Not meant for the send,” he said.
