The Arctic Camo Special Edition Xbox controller is now available worldwide
Microsoft has launched the Arctic Camo Special Edition Xbox Series X/S wireless controller worldwide.
An updated version of the Arctic Camo Special Edition Xbox One controller, it originally launched in the US last May priced at $69.99.
As previously reported, although a little later than expected, it’s now also available outside of the US, where it costs £64.99 / €69.99.
“Arctic Camo features a patchwork of rugged white and grey that all tie together into one striking visual,” Microsoft says.
“This monochromatic multitool, from the thumbsticks to the hybrid D-Pad and all the way to the triggers, is the perfect purchase for gamers who crave a controller that exudes both style and sophistication.”
An Arctic Camo Xbox Series X Console Wrap is also available in the US and Canada only, priced at $44.99 / $59.99 respectively.
Another new Xbox Series X/S wireless controller recently leaked ahead of an official announcement.
According to ever-reliable dataminer billbil-kun, Microsoft will release a third controller in its ‘Vapor’ series next month.
Following the release of Stormcloud Vapor and Dream Vapor pads, Nocturnal Vapor will reportedly be released on April 9, with an official announcement and pre-orders likely to go live a week earlier.
Microsoft launched the Vapor series of Xbox Design Lab custom controllers in January, including Nocturnal Vapor, which is dark green and grey in colour.
The next evolution of the Xbox controller could feature improved haptic feedback, an accelerometer, and a rechargeable and replaceable battery.
While Microsoft’s plans may have changed, a controller codenamed Sebile leaked last September via unredacted court documents published accidently, including one titled ‘Roadmap to 2030’.
It included information on Microsoft’s mid-generation console refresh, which said an ”adorably all digital” Xbox Series X system codenamed ‘Brooklin’ would come with an “all-new, more immersive controller”.
