The Counter-Strike Pro Who Got Banned for Playing 3 Days Straight, Raking in a Whopping 78 Competitive Matches in a Row

In Counter-Strike, players who try to get around or tamper with game systems to harm other players are banned from the game. Among the examples are: cheating, deranking, or inflating your in-game rating or skill group in order to manipulate your matchmaking rank, automation and/or botting, and purposefully disrupting other players’ or game servers’ regular operations.

These are pretty common in a game like Counter-Strike. However, former CS pro Bradley “Slugy” Kohler had an astonishing way of getting banned. He played so many matches that the ban message suggested him to get some sleep.

Slugy Was Banned Because He Played Counter-Strike for 3 Days Straight

After a tiring three-day gaming marathon in which he played 78 Counter-Strike 2 games nonstop, Slugy was banned from FACEIT for 24 hours in January this year. With the reason “Go To Sleep,” the player’s health was cited for the platform ban.

Around 04:51 AM on Sunday, January 14th, the former CS: GO pro began his gaming marathon, which lasted until the evening of January 16th. At 06:07 PM, he played his final game prior to being banned, and the entire gaming session lasted more than 62 hours.

Particularly for people who already have health issues, such strenuous gaming can have major negative effects on their health, such as death from exhaustion, strokes, pulmonary artery thromboembolism, or deadly cardiac arrhythmias.

Long-term sleep deprivation can have detrimental effects on one’s health. In light of this, the temporary ban from FACEIT is intended to motivate Slugy to take a break and recuperate following such a demanding gaming session.

Although, this ban was no imposed by Valve itself. Slugy was banned by FACEIT, a competitive gaming platform, which players used for customized matchmaking, different from the actual matchmaking system of Valve. FACEIT is a hugely community-driven platform, which implements strict measures against cheaters. At least, this ban was not as hilarious as Deadlock‘s banning method.

This Is Not the First Time that Slugy Is in Hot Water

The former 7AM NA and Victorum player, was at the center of another controversy due to remarks he made during a pickup game on Facebook in December 2022. Three Chinese players, LemonIsBlue, Akbeast, and C4LLM3SUE, are the targets of a series of racist and offensive chat messages in the act in question.

During the previously mentioned FACEIT free match, Slugy repeatedly called LemonIsBlue, Akbeast, and C4LLM3SUE “chinks” and expressed derogatory remarks like “hop[ed] they di[ed] of COVID” about them for no apparent reason.

Slugy continued by claiming that Chinese people are “bad at everything except cheating” and “stealing”. The fact that he called one of the players “retard” and “retard chink” in addition to telling C4LLM3SUE to “kill yourself” are other highlights of his recent outburst.
