The Last Song, A Unique Soulslike and Platformer Fusion Already Available on PS5 and PC is Finally Making its Way Onto Xbox Later This Month

Enotria: The Last Song is a terrific Soulslike title currently available for the PlayStation 5 and PC platforms later this month. Fans of the genre were eager to dive into this game while other major developers like FromSoftware are biding their time to make the next major installment. Countless developers dipped their toes into the Soulslike arena, given the surge of success, and the Xbox community is missing out on that experience; however, Mirari & Co is ready to fill the void with a unique Soulslike fusion.

Losing one Soulslike title opened the door for another much more ambitious game to take its place. The Xbox platform is finally catching up to the players PlayStation 5 and PC with a new game coming later this month.

The Xbox Community Will Be Getting a Different Kind of Soulslike Game Compared to Enotria: The Last Song

Microsoft has a terrible track record of not porting the newest video games to the Xbox platform. Most game developers prefer to ship their projects on other major gaming platforms like Game Science for Black Myth: Wukong, a new Soulslike-adjacent project that is shattering records on PC and a Microsoft representative came clean and stated the impressive horsepower of the current Xbox consoles are not the reason behind the delay.

Unfortunately, Enotria: The Last Song sails in the same boat and will not launch on the Xbox Series X/S on day one. Jyamma Games revealed the lack of communication with Microsoft is the crux of the delay and the company has done nothing to assist the developers in submitting the game. While nothing is set in stone, Enotria: The Last Song is delayed indefinitely on Xbox, and platform users are on the short end of the stick once again; however, there is a silver lining.

Dark Light is an upcoming Soulslike title that has entered the arena and this game combines the best features of action-platformers and the Soulslike genre. The game is already available on the PlayStation 5 and PC, but at least the Xbox platform is finally catching up rather than not doing anything at all.

Fans of the genre will be in for a different kind of challenge with the 2D perspective than the usual 3D format. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world with a cyberpunk dystopia theme as players fight different enemy types with supernatural abilities.

The Xbox community has been neglected for far too long and the addition of Dark Light will send a good message to the player base knowing the platform still values their loyalty. Hopefully, more games will be added as soon as they are released on rival platforms to avoid the fear of missing out.

The gaming community has been waiting for a new approach to the Soulslike genre and Mirari & Co delivered a great experience. The game developers combined the best parts of a Soulslike with the themes of a future overrun by various enemies that stand in the player’s path to seal the Dark Void.

Microsoft doesn’t necessarily care about being left out anymore like the lack of Japanese games on the platform. The company is carefully selecting which games they will allow to enter their platform or outright does not care about being left out.

Enotria: The Last Song is a massive loss to the Xbox community and Dark Light will be a great alternative. It is time for Microsoft to weigh its options strategically and be more open to assisting game developers.

Mirari & Co saw the potential of a futuristic and dystopian Soulslike title as a 2D action-platformer and shared it with the PlayStation and PC player bases. The Xbox community is finally catching up slowly but surely.
