The Orbital Cannon Salute Sounds Absurd But is the Perfect Stratagem To Remember and Avenge Our Fallen Heroes

The Omens of Tyranny update for Helldivers 2 has been out for quite some time now, so fans are now getting impatient to know what’s next. Everyone has been expecting to see some more fresh content, but since there has been no official announcement from Arrowhead Game Studios, the community has been sharing its own Stratagem, booster, weapon, and mission ideas.

A player recently shared some booster ideas for the game, but there was one that caught everyone’s eye: the Orbital Cannon Salute. By using this booster, players will be able to fire an Orbital Cannon exactly where they were killed, making sure that their efforts are not in vain. Despite various setbacks, Helldivers 2 is once again one of the most popular co-op games in the world, and it’s all because of Arrowhead devs.

This booster idea will make sure fallen Helldivers 2 players are remembered forever

On the r/helldivers2 subreddit, a player shared their unique booster ideas. One of the concept boosters is called the Orbital Cannon Salute, which equips the Super Destroyer with an Orbital Cannon that will be fired to the location where a Helldiver is killed, wiping that entire area in order to remember the fallen soldier.

The idea is certainly absurd but it is probably one of the best ways to remember the fallen soldiers. If this booster gets added to the game, players have to make sure that they don’t teamkill their teammates while they are too close to them as they might end up getting obliterated by the same Orbital Cannon that was fired to remember a fallen hero.

The Helldivers 2 community is known for honoring fallen soldiers, even in real life. After the battle of Malevelon Creek, players were gifted the Fallen Hero’s Vengeance cape to honor the brave soldiers who died on the battlefield, so this booster isn’t a bad idea after all.

Helldivers 2 is currently one of the most popular games in the world, however, the journey wasn’t an easy one for Arrowhead Game Studios. Initially, the game was well-received by gamers all over the world, but soon its co-op gameplay, combat system, and lore became repetitive and boring. It lost most of its fanbase and was on the verge of dying, but Arrowhead came up with a new strategy to save the game.

During Sony’s CES 2025 press conference, Asad Qizilbash, head of PlayStation Productions, revealed that the studio has partnered with Sony Pictures to develop a movie based on Helldivers 2, which is not surprising as it is one of Sony’s most prized possessions. Players are hoping that this film is not just another cash grab because most developers butcher video game adaptations just to make more money out of their franchises.
