The Silent Hill 2 Remakes’s Runtime Will Be Twice As Long As the Original
The upcoming survival horror title, Silent Hill 2 Remake is a highly anticipated title that’s being developed by Bloober Team. The game is based on the original title that came out in 2001, and still kindles a spark in the gaming community when discussing games with strong psychological themes.
However, this time around, the game is going to have a much longer campaign, and fans are wondering how this will work. This will give players a chance to experience parts of the narrative they haven’t before.
Players Are Eager to Experience More of a Familiar Story
When it comes to Konami and Bloober Team, a blend of masterful storytelling comes into play. The two are known for crafting some of the best psychological horror experience with games like Layers of Fear and The Medium.
On a similar note, Silent Hill 2 Remake is a product of a partnership that aims at keeping this genre active and thriving. Even if you’ve played the original game before, be prepared to expect more twists and turns, as the campaign’s length is going to be longer this time.
This information has been shared by user KAMI on Twitter, which has certainly hyped the community further.
Silent Hill 2 remake will take roughly 16-18 hours for a first playthrough and 20+ hours for 100% according to Bloober Team.
That’s compared to 8-10 hours for the original, so basically double. 🤔#SilentHill2 #SH2Remake pic.twitter.com/P6DGIMdZN5

This gives players a lot more to look forward to, especially those who are willing to complete the game (100%) and explore even more, compared to the game’s original release.
That’s only for the first ending IF the player explores 100% of everything the game has to offer. There are 5 endings in the original ( which all are in the remake) + new ending. On top of that you get new game plus. So it is much more than 20 hours for sure. 💌✌🏼

Furthermore, the inclusion of additional tidbits (such as areas and quests) might give players better incentive to explore the game’s narrative at their own pace, rather than rushing through the campaign. This also improves the game’s replayability factor.
How Will Silent Hill 2 Remake Feel Different From the Original?
From what we know so far, the game will use advanced motion capture and audio design, along with other cutting-edge technology that will ensure a gaming experience that feels fresh to fans of the Silent Hill franchise.
Exploring James Sunderland’s psyche in the game will be a remarkable opportunity for fans of the genre as well, as it’s likely that newcomers are going to play this game as a fresh experience rather than something they’ve seen before.
This thought-provoking journey arrives on 8 October on the PlayStation 5 and PC. If this is your first time playing a Silent Hill game, be prepared to experience something utterly surreal and fascinating. Something you’ve likely never experienced before.
