The Stark Difference in Number of Awards Between PlayStation, Xbox & Nintendo Shows There’s Only 1 Winner in the Console Wars

The console war between Xbox and PlayStation has always been a sumptuous treat to watch. The former sometimes leaves its arch-rival behind with its Game Pass. On the other hand, the latter beats its opponent with the force of exclusivity

Sony the console company, also boasts superior hardware and optimization. There are many points from either of the camps, so deciding the ultimate best is a bit tough. But after seeing the number of awards in the last decade, every equation leans towards the blue camp.

There might be some aspects for which people can say that Microsoft‘s console company is the best, and on other days, some can say its contemporary is the best. But if we talk about awards and stuff, then there’s no competition with PlayStation.

This long-hailed company has won a whopping 26 awards in the past decade (counted from 2015) out of 41 different best tech/graphics awards from 5 important and notable organizations. The console company from Sony has won 63% of all the awards, whereas Xbox and Nintendo have won just 1 each, which is just 2% of all.

All these awards have been given after critical considerations from developers, journalists, industry owners, and tech experts. So, all these awards speak volumes for the company itself.

This doesn’t mean that any of the other consoles are out of the running just yet, though. As these awards may be a good indicator of how a company is doing things right, they also allow other companies to see where they are going wrong.

The Console War Might Be Ending Pretty Soon

PlayStation’s huge accolades in the past decade have already made a mark in the battle between consoles. Amidst these adverse situations, Xbox might have dug its own grave. Recently, Microsoft’s console company has imposed some changes that might have put the final pin on the coffin.

The company has announced that Game Pass for Console, which happened to be one of the best features on the platform, will no longer be accessible to new users. For new players, this popular service will be replaced with a new tier called Game Pass Standard, which will cost $14.99 per month.

However, the most painful fact is that this tier will no longer include new games on day one, unlike its previous counterpart. Also, there are price hikes on several plans in this subscription service.

What’s your opinion on the console war? Do you think these awards were given out reasonably, or do you think that Xbox and Nintendo should have earned a few more of these awards? Let us know in the comments what you think!
