“THERE WILL BE WHAT?!” Call of Duty Players Overwhelmed With the Amount of Weapons Available in Warzone at Launch

With Season 1 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 just around the corner, Activision has dropped some eye-popping details about the upcoming integration with Warzone. The announcement has left players scratching their heads, wondering if bigger really means better when it comes to their virtual arsenal.

As the November 14 launch date approaches, the community is divided over this latest revelation. While some are excited about the sheer variety of options at their disposal, others can’t help but wonder if this is a case of quantity over quality. After all, when was the last time you saw someone running around with a Modern Warfare 2 weapon in their Warzone loadout?

A Numbers Game in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 1

The integration of Black Ops 6‘s arsenal with the existing Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 weapons has created what might be the largest weapon pool ever seen in a battle royale game. It’s like walking into a buffet where every dish is a different type of gun—overwhelming, possibly unnecessary, but hey, at least you’ve got options, right?

And when @charlieINTEL shared the latest weapon count on X (formerly Twitter), the reactions were nothing short of entertaining:

The community’s response was immediate and colorful:

Some players couldn’t even form words to express their disbelief:

However, veteran players were quick to point out the elephant in the room:

The skepticism isn’t unfounded. With 77 weapons from MW2, 60 from MW3, and now 40 new additions from Black Ops 6, we’re looking at an arsenal that would make even the most dedicated gun enthusiast’s head spin. But as any seasoned Warzone player will tell you, having more options doesn’t always translate to better gameplay.

The Meta Dilemma

The reality of competitive gaming means that players will always gravitate toward the most effective tactics available—or “meta” as it’s commonly known. This pattern has been particularly evident in Warzone‘s history, where weapons from previous integrations often collect digital dust once newer, more powerful options become available.

This pattern has become increasingly apparent with each new integration. Remember those beloved Modern Warfare 2 weapons that dominated the meta last year? They’ve all been gathering virtual dust in most players’ loadouts, replaced by their shinier, more powerful Modern Warfare 3 counterparts.

It’s a cycle that seems destined to repeat itself with the Black Ops 6 integration, leaving us to wonder whether this expansive arsenal is more about marketing than meaningful gameplay variety.

Some players have even started calling for a more focused approach:

This suggestion isn’t without merit. Taking a page from the playbook of a competitor like Fortnite and streamlining the weapon pool could potentially lead to a more balanced and enjoyable experience. Instead of trying to juggle nearly 200 weapons in the name of variety, perhaps it’s time for Warzone to focus on quality over quantity.

After all, what’s the point of having an arsenal that would make John Wick blush if everyone’s just going to run the same two meta weapons anyway?
