This $16 Lego Star Wars Set Transforms Luke Skywalker’s X-Wing Into A Mech

Luke Skywalker has flown X-Wings and A-Wings over the years, but have you ever seen him inside of a mech suit? Thanks to this Lego suit, you can imagine just how different Star Wars would have been if Skywalker was piloting an “X-Wing” warsuit equipped with an oversized lightsaber. This is one of more than a dozen new Lego Star Wars sets that launched this week. Not only is it one of the coolest new kits in the collection, but it’s also one of the cheapest at only $16.

Taking design cues from Luke’s X-Wing starfighter, the mech has articulated hands, arms, legs and feet, a cockpit for the included minifigure, and an adjustable X-wing jetpack. For situations when you need to bring an uncivilized weapon to a fight, there’s also a buildable stud-shooting blaster.

As mentioned, a bunch of other Lego Star Wars sets launched this week, in case you’d like to pick up a few more for your collection. Some are quite creative, like the 1,579-piece Dark Falcon set that reimagines the heroes of Star Wars as villains and gives them a sleek new spaceship to explore the galaxy in. Also, you get a Darth Jar Jar Binks minifigure, so this is the best Lego Star Wars set of the year.

Another good-looking set is the 558-piece Jedi Desert Skiff and Sarlacc Pit. If Return of the Jedi is one of your favorite films from the original trilogy, then this little diorama piece is a must-have as it features minifigures of Luke Skywalker and Boba Fett, a skiff from Jabba’s pilot to pose them on, and a buildable Sarlacc pit that can fit exactly one Mandalorian inside of its gaping maw.

For something more recent, you can recreate the climatic final duel from the Star Wars: Ahsoka TV series, and for something very cool, check out the 1,932-piece Lego Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series TIE Interceptor. Released earlier this year for Star Wars Day as a Lego Store exclusive, the TIE Interceptor is now available for $230 at Amazon. You should also take a look at the 1,555-piece Imperial Star Destroyer, a 1,555-piece set that comes with seven minifigures, including Cal Kestis from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Survivor.

We’ve listed all of the new Lego Star Wars sets below. Over 100 new Lego sets launched this week, so make sure to browse our other Lego new-release roundups, too.
