This is the Proof Rob McElhenney’s $150 Million Animated Minecraft Movie Would Have Been Better Than Jack Black’s Live Action- Fan Recreates Live Action Trailer into Animation

A Minecraft Movie will be hitting theaters in the spring of 2025. The movie’s teaser opened up to a mixed response, and it currently does not seem to look as promising as it could have been.

Rob McElhenney started working on a Minecraft film in 2020. He worked on the film for 2.5 years, but his idea could not materialize, and the movie went to someone else to direct. A heartbreaking incident.

A new fan-made recreation of the trailer recently surfaced on the internet. The all-animated trailer is in sync with style of the game’s world. The all-animated trailer looks much better than Jack Black’s live-action version.

This proves that the vision of Rob McElhenney regarding the film must have been along the same lines and would have looked much better and more nuanced than the currently shallow portrayal of the game’s world.

In reality, we will never know what McElhenney has in store for us. He has worked day and night to see this film materialize but could not become a part of his $150 million dollar vision.

However, this new animated trailer should give him some comfort, as it could be closer to what he had imagined than the sore live-action version that we got.

This animated trailer looks amazing and more believable than humans interfering within the world, which is becoming harder to digest with each look at the trailer.

All Animated Trailer Has People’s Hearts

Many people expressed their desire to see the film, all-animated. The live-action version fails to achieve what the animated version is capable of.

The live-action version lacks the sync that is required to make the world of the film appear relatable to the players all around the world. People with nothing to do with the game should also not be introduced to it through this live-action drama with very little substance.

Things would have been a lot different if McElhenney had gotten the chance to materialize his vision. It could have been a better representation of the world of Minecraft with little to no caricatures to back the film or increase its appeal for the mass.

Nevertheless, A Minecraft Movie will be hitting theaters in April of 2025, which is a long way from now, and the creators might be up for making some key changes that move our attention away from the live-action fiasco.
