Tips for Managing Time and Completing Missions

72 hours seems like enough time to get things done… right? Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster would happily disagree. Even with all those hours, you would barely scratch the surface of everything the game has to offer.

From saving survivors to defeating Psychopaths, there’s a lot to do in the game, and the ticking timer isn’t helping anyone. To cope with this, there are certain strategies you can use to make the best of your time in Dead Rising.

5. Case in Point

Cases act as main objectives in Dead Rising, and you need to make these a priority. With the variety of things you can do in the game, sometimes it’s easy to lose track of the game’s story progression.

Keep an eye on Dead Rising’s in-game watch. Yes, it’s a little anxiety-inducing but helps you keep track of things. However, be careful about making Cases your only priority.

4. Balance Is the Key

Main quests are integral to the game’s progression, but only doing those will likely lead to missing out on some great content. It’s better to find a balance between main and side missions to build your playthrough.

A lot of side quests grant you experience points and rewards that are highly useful in the long run. Try to do side missions that aren’t too far from your main objectives.

3. Know Your Mall

Take some time to run (or drive) around the map and get a better sense of its layout. Knowing the ins and outs of the place can help you traverse better. This helps you save a lot of time instead of feeling lost between hordes of zombies.

Use the map to your advantage, and look for shortcuts and maintenance tunnels that help you get from one point to another in the shortest time possible.

2. Use Vehicles Wisely

There are a few vehicles in Dead Rising that you can take for a joyride. They can quickly get you across different places on the map and even help you clear out large hordes of the undead.

However, they are quite fragile, so save them for crucial moments. Especially when you plan on getting across a large distance and there are no shortcuts to help you save time.

1. Some Survivors Require More Attention Than Others

Not all survivors are as well-equipped as Frank when it comes to zombie-killing. Moreover, they might even be afraid of everything that’s going on and panic. Knowing this in advance can help you build a better mindset before saving a survivor.

Always keep an eye on the survivor you’re assisting, and use weapons that clear big groups quickly (like a chainsaw). Additionally, you can also group survivors rather than save them one by one.
