Todd Howard’s Starfield DLC Shattered Space Alleged Release Date is Pretty Much a Shadow Drop

Despite Starfield not delivering on the big stage, fans are still excited about the upcoming Shattered Space DLC. The expansion will look to rectify issues with the base game and also add content that is not limited to what we’ve seen so far.

The DLC was announced quite some time ago, but the release date wasn’t revealed. However, according to recent leaks, the expansion is pretty close to its release, and fans will soon get to see Todd Howard’s Starfield DLC, Shattered Space.

Although rumors were swirling for a while, we didn’t get to see the Shattered Space DLC until Xbox Games Showcase 2024. It gave us the first glimpse of new content and what we could expect from it.

A leak has reportedly revealed the release period for the upcoming Starfield DLC. According to the Twitter account @Odah_SFA, the DLC is expected to arrive this September, with a teaser dropping on August 20. This means the DLC arrives one year after the base game’s release.

The Twitter user also pointed out that the DLC after Shattered Space, “Starborn,” will come next year. A new trademark was recently registered with the same name, indicating Bethesda is gearing up for content beyond the upcoming DLC.

Keep in mind that these are just leaks at the moment, and we are still waiting to see an official statement. Although the Twitter user who revealed the details is known for providing credible news about the game, we cannot jump the gun before hearing anything from an official source.

Everything We Know About Shattered Space

The trailer revealed that the upcoming DLC will focus on the faction House Va’ruun. This makes sense since the faction was the least explored in the base game. Generally, the faction is known to be violent, and members are highly devoted to their religion.

It’s fair to say the DLC will revolve around themes of religion, cults, and their members. The trailer’s spooky vibe and the strange creatures we saw suggest we’re venturing into a horror-themed setting. Additionally, the apparent serpent god of the House Va’ruun faction is going to be at the center of everything.

The introduction of the Creation kit also opens new avenues in the game. Mods have turned into fortunes for several other Bethesda games, and we can expect similar results for Starfield. However, the game’s narrative will also depend on how the upcoming DLCs perform.
