Ultra-Luxurious Villa on France’s ‘Peninsula of Billionaires’ Listed at $29 Million

Villa Leopolda

Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, located on a forested promontory between Nice and Monaco, has long been known as the “Peninsula of Billionaires”. Villa Leopolda, built for King Leopold II of Belgium and once the world’s most expensive estate with an asking price of $750 million, is located there. Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich is said to also own several luxury properties there. A few years ago fellow Russian-born billionaire Len Blavatnik bought the famed Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, one of the world’s most exclusive resorts, a favored retreat of Picasso, Winston Churchill and Charlie Chaplin.

Now an ultra-luxurious villa located steps away from the hotel has been listed for sale at $29 million by Christie’s International Real Estate affiliate Michael Zingraf of Cannes. The majestic property built in the Belle Epoque style has both a main residence and a guest villa, each with a private swimming pool, set on lushly landscaped grounds with olive groves. The main villa features rich marble floors, fireplaces, stairways and elaborate moldings, seven bedrooms with en-suite baths and a fitness center, among other luxe amenities. The property faces south to get the full benefit of the light and stunning views of the ocean, and has been designed to assure the security of its owner.
