Unlike Xbox Fans, MachineGames Developers Are Ecstatic That Indiana Jones and The Great Circle Is Coming To PS5

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is the latest Xbox first-party title to be ported to rival gaming platforms and the game developers are beyond ecstatic. PlayStation 5 users will likely experience a better and much more refined version of the game given the developers’ optimistic reaction and positive outlook.

Porting games to different platforms is a controversial topic nowadays; however, people fail to see the positive side. The project was originally envisioned as a multiplatform title; unfortunately, after the Microsoft acquisition, it was believed to be locked onto the Xbox platform and PC but that was not the case.

The Developers of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Are Thrilled With About the PlayStation 5 Port

The gaming community anticipated every major project in active development from Bethesda Game Studios would be exclusively released on the Xbox ecosystem. During this year’s Gamescom, the official release date was announced and the segment ended with an announcement that Indiana Jones and The Great Circle will be coming to the PlayStation 5 early next year.

The game developers were happy about the announcement and are convinced the PlayStation 5 port will perform much better than on the native Xbox Series consoles. It comes as no one’s surprise that Xbox games naturally run better on the PlayStation 5 similar to the situation of Sea of Thieves, and judging by the developers’ initial reaction, it is safe to bet the game will look stellar.

It is ironic to see developers act this optimistically for shipping a game on a rival platform. Early previews and gameplay showcase MachineGames’ talent and eye for detail and expect nothing less from veteran game developers.

Judging by their reactions, it is like the game developers were held captive to work on the Xbox version but aspired to work on the PlayStation 5 port. Other supporters felt betrayed and Phil Spencer let them down after his initial statements regarding first-party exclusivity only to see this project jump over in a few short months.

The developers are excited to release the game on a different platform because it allows them to share this project with people without an Xbox or Game Pass subscription. More coverage will never be a bad thing in the video game industry.

Regardless of how well the game will perform sales-wise and optimization, others still prefer to pledge their loyalty to the Xbox platform. There is a strong likelihood the game will run better on rival hardware and it is not for the lack of trying, the developers are familiar with the tech and could push the boundaries even further.

No one is on the losing side in this dilemma, the developers get to do what they want and Microsoft generates revenue from the PlayStation 5 sales. Hopefully, others will see it as a symbiotic relationship instead of a competition.

The gaming community is confident about Starfield being next in line and following through after the recent Indiana Jones PS5 port. Microsoft is no longer concerned about its place in the console war and prefers to become a third-party producer of high-quality projects.

The community is divided about this but there is a silver lining. It would be a shame to keep one game that was worked on for years tethered to one platform.
