Victims identified in suspected murder-suicide at Tampa hospital: HCSO
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office was investigating a suspected murder-suicide that happened in a parking lot of a Tampa hospital.
According to HCSO, at 6:37 p.m. on Aug. 14, deputies responded to a call regarding two possible deceased individuals in a parking lot of HCA Florida West Tampa Hospital.
Once they arrived at the scene, HSCO deputies said they found a woman with gunshot wounds and a man with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Officials identified the woman as 67-year-old Zelica Martucci and the man as 75-year-old Philip Martucci.
Deputies said this was an isolated incident and there is no general threat to the public.
“This is an unimaginable tragedy, and our hearts break for the families and loved ones affected by this senseless loss,” Sheriff Chad Chronistersaid. “Violence like this is never the solution. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone impacted by this tragedy.”
This remains an ongoing investigation.
