Wayans Brothers returns with a new Scary Movie

Just in time for the spookiest season of the year, Scary Movie will finally release a new film 13 years after the fifth one.

According to ABC News, Marlon Wayans announced that he and his brothers, Shawn Wayans and Keenen Ivory Wayans, are teaming up together to make a brand-new reboot of the beloved franchise.

The former also shared on Instagram a photo of him and a Ghostface cosplayer with a smile on his mask while expressing that the brothers are going to give the fans what they want, signaling the return of the Scary Movie franchise under their hands.

Marlon Wayans’ representative shared that this is the first project the Wayans brothers will be working together on after 18 years since their last one. Moreover, the sixth movie of the franchise will be handled by Miramax and Paramount Pictures.

The Wayans brothers also expressed their excitement in filming the new Scary Movie and working together again as this is the franchise they crafted 20 years ago. They wish to see people laughing out of their minds once more. The brothers are also eager to work with Miramax CEO, Jonathan Glickman, alongside his team to generate more laughs at the theaters where they rightfully belong.

The upcoming Scary Movie still hasn’t confirmed its release date, but it’s likely to release some time next year in 2025.
