We Know Because of The Return of its Most Iconic Map

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is around the corner. The highly anticipated title from Treyarch is going to be released on October 25, 2024. After the completion of the Modern Warfare trilogy, now it’s time for COD to pick from where it left off in Call of Duty: Cold War.

Whenever a new COD title surfaces in the market, nostalgia hits pretty hard. This franchise is one of those very few that made our childhood brighter. That is why we are going to see some classic COD features like the prestige system as well as the zombies mode. However, there is another OG return, which will make fans crazy.

Treyarch has recently confirmed that one of the most highly popular maps in the franchise, Nuketown, will be featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. The development team also stated that we are going to see a remastered version of the OG map in the upcoming game.

As of now, the developers haven’t gotten into the details of the map, but fans can expect its layout to mirror the classic Nuketown map, with vastly improved visuals to meet the current modern standards.

However, fans have to wait until November 1 to see the map surfacing in the game. There has been no explanation for this delay, but this might be done to give a proper chance to the brand-new maps. The upcoming title has a total of 16 multiplayer maps at launch.

Small maps have become a trend in the franchise since Shipment in COD 4, for example, Rust in Modern Warfare 2 and Nuketown in the original Black Ops in 2010.

Although this is not the first return of Nuketown, as the developers had brought it back in Black Ops 2 (as Nuketown 2025 and a Zmobies mode variant), Black Ops 3 (a futuristic version), and in Black Ops 4 and Cold War as well, with their own respective takes on the map.

Prestige System is Back in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

With ten Prestige tiers that top out at Level 55, the upcoming game will revert to the traditional Prestige system formula. A player will join a Prestige Mastery system with a 1,000-level cap after finishing the tenth tier.

Unquestionably, the new Black Ops game’s decision to adopt the classic Prestige system is a great approach to appeal to the franchise’s older audience while also adding an interesting progression system. Fans of the franchise are applauding Treyarch’s decision to go back to the game’s origins.

Even better, the traditional Prestige system will be included in the game from the very beginning of its release. The mechanism was finally introduced via a post-launch upgrade in recent shooter games, after a long wait.
