West Australian allrounder Cameron Green returns home from ODI series in England with back injury
West Australian allrounder Cameron Green is returning home from England from a back injury.
Green has been pulled out of the final two games of Australia’s one-day international series against England after reporting soreness after the third match on Wednesday night (AWST).
The towering 25-year-old was sent for scans, which revealed the injury, and a timeline will be set for his return after more tests in Australia.
Green was one of three changes for the fourth ODI at Lords on Friday. Fellow West Aussie Aaron Hardie and Matt Short have come out of the side for Adam Zampa, Travis Head and Josh Inglis, who has been named to take the gloves, despite Alex Carey also retaining his place in the side.

The injury puts the likelihood of Green playing for WA in one of its opening Sheffield Shield games in October in doubt.
Australia begins a one-day series against Pakistan on November 4 and the Test series against India in Perth on November 22.
“Cameron Green has sustained a back injury and will play no further part in the ODI tour of England,” a Cricket Australia spokesman said.
“He will return home for further assessment where his return to play management plan will be determined.”
For the first time in the series, with Australia otherwise nearing full fitness, young WA tearaway and standby player Mahli Beardman has not been named on the list of emergency fielders.
