What Are the Dungeonborne Classes? – Answered

Your typical extraction shooter doesn’t offer the usual class system, as they’re more likely to revolve around firearms and tactical shooter gameplay. But this new breed of extraction shooter, the one delving into fantasy dungeons and loot, offers plenty of breathing room to experiment. So, what are the Dungeonborne classes?

On launch day, Dungeonborne will feature a total of eight classes, accommodating various playstyles and aesthetics that players will likely flock to in droves. I’m sure everyone will have a favorite to play. During the beta, I opted for a straightforward Fighter to test out the game’s melee combat, and I wasn’t dissatisfied with the overall experience!

  • Fighter
    • Your straightforward tank dealing damage from the front of the party with swords, maces, and heavy armor.
  • Priest
    • A support class capable of healing injured teammates and buffing defense and attack capabilities.
  • Rogue
    • A fast-moving, ambush-oriented playstyle class that excels at hit-and-run tactics against enemy players.
  • Swordmaster
    • A quick blade-wielding duelist who utilizes magical swords to deal additional damage to enemies.
  • Pyromancer
    • A spellcaster capable of dealing immense damage with fire-based spells that knock back enemies and cause Burn.
  • Death Knight
    • A necrotic warrior that deals physical damage with every sword swing and instills fear in enemies by sapping soul aura.
  • Cryomancer
    • An area-control spellcaster who utilizes frost spells to freeze enemies and create ice shields for protection.
  • Druid
    • A powerful combination of physical damage and magic, with leap attacks and summons to dominate the battlefield.

While seven doesn’t seem like too many for a game focused on repeatedly running dungeons in search of loot, as more classes would shake up the gameplay, we’ll likely see additional Dungeonborne classes added in future content updates. There are so many fantasy classes to pull from for inspiration!

Can You Customize Your Character in Dungeonborne?

In Dungeonborne, you’ll choose your ideal class to suit a specific playstyle, then customize your character to suit your ideal appearance. However, it’s not the most in-depth character customization process in gaming.

Don’t expect similar opportunities to, say, Starfield or Dragon’s Dogma 2. It’s adequate, though, especially considering you’ll spend your entire time in first-person and likely wearing a hat or helmet!
