What U.S. cities are most desirable? Indiana location places in top 10

When it comes to raising a family, some U.S. locations are better than others, and a recent study found the most sought-after cities to do so across the country. Hoosiers may be surprised to see an Indiana location toward the top of the list.

Experts at AgentAdvice, a real estate resource website, found the most desirable cities in the U.S. by evaluating 11 metrics before determining a score out of 100. Factors included average income, violent and property crime rates per 100,000 population as well as vehicle accidents, rent and living costs in the city, the percentage of people who live within half a mile of a park and the number of good schools.

Indiana city ranks ‘most desirable’ in the U.S.

Columbus ranked No. 7 for “most desirable” with a total score of 59.17. According to the study results, Columbus has an average personal income of $61,920 with essential living costs at $29,978. The average home costs $349,950 with a violent crime rate in the area of 306.2 per 100,000.
