What’s behind explosion sounds in NE Ohio this week

SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio (WJW) — Residents in Summit County may hear explosions this week.

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office Training Bureau will be hosting an explosive breacher training from Sept. 30 – Oct. 4 at its training facility on Greensburg Road in Green.

During this period, small explosives will be deployed daily between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The sheriff’s office reports that while the explosions will not be extremely loud, their frequency and sound may be noticeable.

The training is part of an ongoing effort to enhance the skills of law enforcement personnel in handling explosive breaches safely and effectively, according to the sheriff’s office.
