While Switch 2 May be a Distant Dream, Elden Ring Nightreign Can be a Bestseller In Another Popular Handheld

Despite being officially announced recently, there is unfortunately a bit more time before gamers are able to get their hands on the much-awaited Nintendo Switch 2. However, that would not stop new games from releasing, especially the upcoming Elden Ring Nightreign by Hidetaka Miyazaki, which could potentially dominate on another handheld liked by gamers.

Enter the Steam Deck, which happens to be Valve’s entry handheld gaming market. Unlike the Switch, it isn’t limited by underpowered hardware. Instead, it works on high-powered tech instead, letting players enjoy their massive Steam libraries on the go, which include the likes of the already famous Elden Ring.

FromSoftware has mastered the art of creating punishing yet rewarding experiences, and Elden Ring was the culmination of everything the studio has learned from creating different franchises over the years, becoming one of the best open-world games to have ever come out.

Moreover, what’s more impressive is how the massive and fairly demanding game has found a way to run smoothly on the Steam Deck. This can only make fans like us hope that the upcoming Elden Ring Nightreign will be able to work perfectly on the console as well.

While the exact details for the game’s release remain undisclosed, the studio has already started going through network tests, meaning we could potentially see a release in the coming few months.

With continued optimization after its release on the Steam Deck, there is no doubt about the fact that Elden Ring and its co-op extension will just continue to improve in performance over time, which leaves us to wonder how it will perform on the Switch 2.

Imagine getting to play something like Bloodborne on the go, or finally beating Radahn on your 1000th attempt on Switch 2 while commuting through a train. Bearing in mind the past rumors revolving around the platform, it might just have the same technical power as a PlayStation 4 Pro.

Not only does it mean that you will be able to run hardcore AAA titles, but particularly the ones made by Hidetaka Miyazaki. The Dark Souls: Remastered edition is already available on the original Switch 1, which opens up the path for more games from the studio to appear as well.

Ultimately, it remains up to gamers to choose what console they would like to enjoy the upcoming Elden Ring Nightreign on. While Steam Deck and the Nintendo Switch 2 both have their pros and cons, the option to play on either of them would be nice to have.
