Why Hollow Knight: Silksong’s Chances of Appearing at The Game Awards 2024 are Low, But Not Zero

The only thing I personally feel the Xbox Series brand was and is heavily being promoted with is Game Pass and its day-one feature.

And that’s fine.

As a physical edition buyer, this didn’t and won’t catch me.

Even if Nintendo or Playstation would be doing the same. Noone would catch me with this. I am old-school, stubborn and not into renting games.

So what do I distinguish next is – games.

PS5 and Xbox Series share almost the same games. Apart from exclusives, wether they are 1st, 2nd or 3rd party deals.

It’s the same distinguishing it has always been in the console market.

They both haven’t been playing their best cards yet. But I can’t see a superior line up on the Xbox Series side since 2020.

So, what’s left?

The sole fact that CoD is now an IP owned by Microsoft doesn’t let me bite, either. Why would It? It was a huge business consolidation for obvious reasons. Same with Zenimax.

And if I didn’t want to jump ship onto a next-gen-specced console, I could have stayed with One X or PS4 Pro. The Series S went completely out of my sight the first time they announced it. And that parity clause was a “Oh boy, that’s gonna be challenging for a console cycle of up to 8 years.” right away compared to the specs of Series X and PS5.

So, yeah. It is the way it is. No bashing, just stating.

Let’s see what their Xbox Next will be all about.
