Xbox has revealed the Pulse Cipher special edition wireless controller

Microsoft has announced a new special edition Xbox controller.

Following a recent leak that confirmed the upcoming controller’s name, the company officially revealed the Pulse Cipher controller on Tuesday.

Pictured above, it has a transparent red design, allowing players to see the controller’s inner workings, rubberised red grips, and metallic red D-pad and triggers.

Priced at $74.99/ £64.99, it’s available to pre-order now ahead of its launch on February 4, 2025.

This is the third controller in Xbox’s ‘Cipher’ series of wireless controller designs. Last year the company released the Sky Cipher controller, which featured a transparent blue shell.

This was followed later in the year by the Ghost Cipher controller, which instead featured a transparent grey shell.

Earlier today, Microsoft revealed the next wave of titles coming to Game Pass for console, PC and Xbox Cloud Gaming. Headline additions to the service in the second half of January include Sniper Elite: Resistance and Eternal Strands, which are day one releases.

The next Xbox Developer Direct live stream will take place on January 23 at 10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern / 6pm UK. It will showcase four games, one of which is reportedly a fresh entry in an iconic Japanese game series.
