Xbox is Proof That Cloud Gaming is the Future, and Here’s Why

Cloud gaming is still a relatively new system that is being improved every day by game companies like Microsoft; however, it isn’t perfect yet. One day I would like to see that happening; better if that’s something hand in hand with the Xbox brand. Gaming shouldn’t be something of a thing for the ones born with a silver spoon in their mouth.

Affordability is becoming more visible in the gaming landscape today, with pricey consoles waiting to be bought by the blue bloods. But cloud gaming could change this. Even if a person has an Android phone at their disposal, chances are they will be playing God of War without needing those consoles.

Are Console Wars Going to be a Thing of the Past Anytime Soon?

Maybe cloud gaming is something that will stay for as long as we can think of. But that time hasn’t come yet; there are arrangements that need to be in place before we can call the concept mainstream. But the market giants already know it’s worth their time and are experimenting with it already.

In contrast to concepts like the metaverse, cloud gaming has more scope in the real world. I mean, it would be great to see something like Ready Player One happening around us, but that actually feels more lonesome. Playing Warzone on Android sounds much more fun than that.

Yes, it is something that’ll be available everywhere: consoles, laptops, smartphones, and more. But that is the gist of this piece; consoles may be out of the game. The ones already have them are a different case. They won’t go exactly extinct, but much time will be spent on other devices, for that matter.

Netflix, Microsoft, Sony, and more are going somewhere; I don’t know exactly where, but they are moving with their cloud gaming services. Xbox Cloud Gaming and PlayStation Plus Premium are available in over 25 countries. It seems that is working just fine there.

Although PlayStation is the boss now in the current video game landscape, fans essentially despise it’s game streaming services. And that is something Microsoft gaming is good at. It needs to work on the streaming part to concrete their position in the days to come.

Xbox already have some fine relation with PC gaming and streaming services expansion over more countries would just be its version of a punch to other competitors. It will be about video games and not really consoles. Just users shouldn’t forget their legacy when cloud gaming takes over.

Even in its Beta, Xbox Cloud Gaming is Better Than the Others

Google Stadia went down the drain, as did the lacklustre PlayStation Now, which is now a part of PlayStation Plus Premium. As console wars will end for good, a new battlefield is being prepared for streaming wars. And this time Sony isn’t looking to be the ultimate conqueror in gaming.

Even today, when streaming games isn’t really a thing, Microsoft’s gaming catalog is no short of a decorated Christmas tree, with so many things to make us happy. No other similar service offers as many options as Xbox does. Don’t know about other things, but downloading games is going to be a thing of the past.

Yes, it began as a laggy and choppy service like the others, but now you won’t find anything that’ll hinder any experience. And not just the singleplayer campaigns; multiplayer too runs smoothly and with minimal lag that you won’t even notice if occupied in an intense game.

While almost all those entities entered the development of this console-less method of gaming, they appear to be on the verge of giving up. Hopefully that won’t happen, and I hope they find a way around. Only Microsoft and Sony are able to sustain it.

What’s more impressive is that, when full-fledged game streaming services are full of lags and connection issues, Xbox Cloud Gaming is still in its beta and runs as flat as pancake. To put it more precisely, it is winning already when the race has just begun.

But then I say the race has just begun; that also translates into more contenders making their appearance on the track. Those gaming giants—they are giants for a reason. Maybe they have failed for now, but it isn’t over yet. And in all honesty, I want all of them to be victorious.

What do you think of the future of video games? Will console wars be over for good? We would like to know your thoughts in the comments section below.
