Xbox Live Faces Meltdown As Players Struggle To Queue In

Yesterday, the PlayStation Network hit a sudden snag as it went down in a major global outage. It’s truly a wild time to be a Sony fan, as many have recently reacted quite negatively against the advertisements starting to appear in their PS5 titles and the drop for PS5 Pro. This comes during a massive shift for the brand as well, which made it quite frustrating to find out that PSN Network has gone down.

At the time of this publication, PlayStation’s services are back online. However, now, Xbox is facing a full-blown meltdown as thousands of users are complaining about the malfunctioning of Xbox servers. It’s truly turning out to be a bad week for gamers.

After two decades since its debut on the first Microsoft console, Xbox Live continues to be a major online service that links gamers around the globe.

Xbox Live Gold now stands as a part of Game Pass Core, giving subscribers access to their favorite multiplayer games, member deals, discounts in the Microsoft store, and a fantastic catalog of over 25 select tiles on Series S/X.

Unfortunately, Xbox Live is suffering from an outrage right now, which is preventing thousands from playing games with their friends online or starting some of the titles that are bundled with their Game Pass subscription.

When players are trying to log in to their accounts, they’re greeted with a message that says, “There are problems with Xbox services.” The first issues were reported by the community right around 3:40 A.M. PT.

Players on various social media channels have already reported that the network is working properly in their case. For now, these are totally separate cases and are unlikely to happen for everyone at once, but it is a good sign.

It’s worth keeping in mind that this isn’t the first failure of this type we’ve witnessed in Microsoft servers. The previous outage happened back in July, and gamers ended up losing access to their library for more than 6 hours, which sparked debates about the “always online” model.

According to Xbox’s official X account, it is aware of the issue and has already brought fixes to resolve it for everyone.

Despite that, players are still facing some major problems when trying to log in to Xbox Live, and there’s still no guarantee that players will be able to enjoy their games while the issues continue.

Compared to Sony, Microsoft has still handled the outage issues quite well, as well as informing their consumers about what’s been going on retroactively, compared to Sony, which decided to stay silent on the matter despite not having any online features available for more than eight hours.

If you still can’t log in, all you can do is wait for the server fixes to properly go live for everyone. In the meantime, it might be a great idea to fire up an older console and try playing games that don’t require active wi-fi to play.

With that said, are you still experiencing trouble logging into Xbox Live services? If so, let us know in the comments below.
