XDefiant Continues to Surprise Some That Have Grown Tired of the Massive Installs, Constant Patches, and Copy & Paste Antics of Its AAA Competitor
Ubisoft’s XDefiant is a free-to-play shooter where teams of six fight against each other in action-packed game modes. Despite its issues and criticism, the game has proven to be a massive hit for the studio, topping charts and breaking various records.
Ever since its announcement, XDefiant hasn’t escaped from the shadows of Call of Duty due to its resemblance to the franchise’s titles from earlier in the 21st century. However, as Ubisoft continues to update the shooter, the gaming community is absolutely shocked at how the shooter is superior to its competitors in many aspects.
XDefiant Continues to Stand Ahead of Its Competitors
There’s no doubt that the Call of Duty franchise once stood as the face of the shooter genre. No one could’ve ever challenged the franchise’s supremacy. However, in recent years, Activision has brought many controversial multiplayer changes and features that made the players desperate for an experience that isn’t half-baked.
While Ubisoft’s shooter hasn’t managed to completely take out the giant, it has indeed won many players over with its back-to-the-basics gameplay and features. It’s genuinely refreshing for the entire gaming community to experience a shooter game that doesn’t need multiple updates and huge installs to play.
Despite immense pressure on its shoulders and being labeled as Ubisoft’s “Call of Duty killer,” it’s clear that XDefiant is delivering.
The fact that it brings an experience that is casual gamer-friendly instead of a sweat-fest like other shooters truly separates the title apart from its competitors. Players are loving the experience and can’t wait to see what the future holds for the title.
Well, it’s now time for Activision and Treyarch to start taking notes. If they don’t want the upcoming Black Ops 6 to be a failure, the developers must recognize what gamers want by studying Ubisoft shooter’s rise. It’s surprising to see that out of all the companies fans could’ve expected, it’s Ubisoft giving a challenge to Activision.
The Ubisoft Shooter Doesn’t Come Without Its Own Issues
While it’s great to see that gamers are having a blast in the Ubisoft game, the shooter is plagued by issues and bugs. This has made it quite a troublesome game to play at times, with some players outright uninstalling and moving to competitors.
Ubisoft’s Mark Rubin took to X/Twitter, and responded to various player complaints related to the game’s technical issues.
The developer’s response has certainly caused a bigger uproar in the community. Players had been hoping to see the game’s major issues patched out as soon as possible, but the developers are outright telling them to move on.
However, fans can’t help but appreciate Rubin’s frank explanation of the problem. XDefiant still stands as one of the best shooters available to download right now. Surely, Ubisoft will fix its various issues before the interest in the game starts to dip.
