York murder: Homicide detectives investigate after elderly man found dead in Wheatbelt home
A murder investigation is underway after a 76-year-old man was found dead inside a home in York by paramedics.
Homicide detectives are investigating the man’s death after St John WA were called to a home on Avon Terrace just before 7.30am on Sunday, following reports of a deceased male.
Police were alerted to the incident around 8am, before homicide detectives took charge of the investigation into his death.
“A 63-year-old man, known to the victim, is assisting police with inquiries,” a police spokeswoman said.
St John WA said two ambulances attended the scene — which is around 100km east of Perth — but that nobody was transferred to hospital.
