2 women wanted after Winco theft in Fresno, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Two women are wanted for allegedly stealing several items from a Winco store in Fresno, the Fresno Police Department said.

According to the Police Department, Asset Protection Officers observed two women concealing merchandise in their purses on Monday at around 5:15 p.m. inside the Winco store at 1004 S. Peach Ave., in Fresno.

Investigators say the women walked past the cash registers and out the front doors without paying for the concealed items.

Officers say security staff attempted to detain them as they exited the store, but the woman pictured below displayed a can of OC spray and deployed it toward the face of the security staff to assist in her escape.

Anyone with information regarding these suspects and/or their whereabouts is encouraged to contact Detective Albert Avelar at 559-621-6328 or Albert.avelar@fresno.gov.
