WA’s rush to meet paediatric demand is hampered by a global dearth of talent, Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson says, as new doctors opt for roles that are not as “emotionally draining”.
Speaking after The West Australian revealed a more than three-year wait for some parents to see a paediatrician, Ms Sanderson said the State was scrambling to attract as many new specialists as it could to child health.
