Are Call of Duty and Modern Warfare 3 a Part of Ubisoft+?

In the world of gaming, subscription services have become staples. Amidst the congestion of Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus, Ubisoft+ has come out as a breather of fresh air. Ubisoft has been reigning the gaming arena for so long, now it is time for it to boss the subscription-based gaming as well.

However, to compete with the likes of Game Pass and PlayStation Plus, Ubisoft has to hold its ground firmly with top-tier titles of the modern generation. And it seems the company is smashing it with a ground-breaking deal with Activision Blizzard. But is the biggest franchise of this company a part of the subscription service?

Ubisoft+ Gets Streaming Rights of Activision Blizzard Titles

Last year, in August, Ubisoft announced its agreement with Activision Blizzard, which will give Ubisoft Cloud the streaming rights to games like Call of Duty and more. The agreement covers the entire library of Activision Blizzard games that are now available as well as all of their upcoming games that will be released within 15 years of Microsoft’s Activision Blizzard acquisition closing.

In addition to enabling Ubisoft to license the games to cloud gaming firms, service providers, and console manufacturers, the games will be available on Ubisoft+.

Players will soon be able to stream their favorite Activision Blizzard games and play their favorite Ubisoft titles on a variety of platforms, such as PCs, Xbox consoles, Amazon Luna, and the PlayStation platform through Ubisoft+ Classics, all with a single membership to Ubisoft+ Multi Access.

Through cloud streaming, the deal will give gamers even more access to a vast collection of well-known and timeless games in addition to the most recent releases. Why, therefore, is this agreement taking place? Although Ubisoft’s announcement is vague, the CMA’s denial of Microsoft’s Activision Blizzard acquisition is the key factor.

When Is Call of Duty Coming to Ubisoft+?

The contract was signed over a year ago; still, Call of Duty isn’t available on Ubisoft+ yet. The company stated that it will inform further regarding how things are going to be and how players can enjoy Activision titles through the subscription service.

As of now, there is no confirmed date on when Call of Duty will pop up on Ubisoft+. However, there are certain rumors and reports. The company needs to bring these titles asap to their subscription service, as it is going through a rough patch right now.

Asked about Activision Blizzard games on streaming platforms (which Ubi has global rights to, aside from Europe):

In July this year, Game File reporter Stephen Totilo claimed that the games from Activision Blizzard will surface on the subscription service by the end of this fiscal year. That means we might see Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on Ubisoft+ by mid-2025.
