Bandai Namco cancels Blue Protocol Western release

Bandai Namco has canceled plans to bring Blue Protocol to the Western market. The studio blames its inability to satisfy everyone.

The Japanese studio partnered with Amazon Games to bring the MMORPG to life in Japan. Despite fanfare, though, it seems the game couldn’t retain an audience and the studio has likely decided it’s not worth the effort to bring the game to a new market.

Its official reason, as said on its announcement, was that it couldn’t provide a game that would please the audience, but it’s pretty clear that that’s not the only reason behind the shuttering. A total of five projects were given the boot after a large sum of yen was lost thanks to an underperforming title, which was beloved to be Blue Protocol.

The online-centric game will shut down fully on January 18, 2025. There’s no word on how this could affect its other projects.

js = d.createElement(s);
js.id = id;
js.src = “//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.5”;
fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);
}(document, ‘script’, ‘facebook-jssdk’));
