Even if they’d make and release a BF1944, at this point, the suits in charge would still insist on making sure it’s a live-service game, and they would just include all kinds of stuff that really isn’t Battlefield, like heroes, streaks, small-scale death-match modes, CoD modes, Battle Royale modes, etc etc.

Battlefield, GOOD Battlefield, should just be 10-12 great Conquest maps with 2 teams, with 4 different but well-balanced classes, and that’s it. The maps shouldn’t be HUGE, they should ve appropriately sized for the game you’re playing, which is a 32 vs 32 or MAYBE a 48 vs 48 player match.

Bigger isn’t better in this case. You don’t need/want a huge map-size. Just look at the best maps in BF3 and BF4 and that’s pretty much ideal, size-wise.

Suits will ruin everything, as they always will.
