Boomer not OK: Anti-ageism campaign eyes end to ‘divisive’ generational terms

The State Government wants to ban generational terms such as “boomer” and “millennial” to avoid sowing division and fuelling stereotypes against older West Australians.

As part of the “Challenge Your Bias” campaign launched by the Government on Tuesday to tackle ageism, the Department of Communities produced a guide to inclusive language which also calls for an end to phrases such as “over the hill” and “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks”.
