Boxer Alex Winwood to fight in regional WA in lead up to next world challenge
Bunbury boxer Alex Winwood wants to hone his craft with a series of bouts in regional Western Australia in the lead-up to another shot at the minimumweight world title in 12 months’ time.
The 27-year-old fell agonisingly short in his bid to create Australian boxing history, losing to WBA champion Thamanoon Niyomtrong at a near-packed HBF Stadium last weekend in just his fifth professional fight.
