A lawyer by profession, he spent 23 years at the State Solicitor’s Office, rising to senior assistant State solicitor and covering a range of issues, including industrial relations. His expertise in this field was acknowledged in 2016 with his appointment to the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission.
