Dragon’s Dogma 2 Could Pick Up where Baldur’s Gate 3 Left Off

Baldur’s Gate 3 elevates the role genre and even won the Game of the Year Award with the incredible work of Larian Studios, which went far and beyond to deliver one of the best role games in decades. But apparently this genre has a lot more to offer, and Dragon’s Dogma 2 could be one of the good ones. 

Thanks to a new video from YouTuber JorRaptor, there are many aspects of the games that are just mind-blowing. Capcom could have one of the best role games of the last few years, just next to Baldur’s Gate 3.

2023 was an outstanding year for videogames in general, with one stunning title after the other: games like Alan Wake 2, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and the Game of the Year winner, Baldur’s Gate 3. The title developed by Larian Studios takes the role-playing genre to a new and more elevated state, like few games have done. The work in every cinematic, dialog, and fight was just perfect. But a new contender could try to make the role genre even better: Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Thanks to a new video from YouTuber JorRaptor, numerous features and mechanics from Dragon’s Dogma 2 were revealed. NPCs will be vital to the development of the story and completing the missions.

If you have a wizard with you, it can make you float to reach a high place or even summon a ladder for you to use. The quest can’t be forgotten because if you take it and leave it for a long period of time, you can just fail because the objective dies or just escape. 

NPCs will react to the danger and can be killed if a monster attacks. If you do not revive NPCs in time, you can lose them forever, even the most important ones. Dragon’s Dogma 2 will not have automatic targeting. There will be a ton of abilities to use in any type of character, like guided arrows or spells. There will be a mysterious disease that is spreading: the dragon blade.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be released on March 22 on PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC. There are some performance problems with the console version of the game. The title has no capped framerate on consoles and cannot be configured; there are tests that show that it is always 30 fps and no more.
