Health minister’s tax-time hospital bailout
More than 20 Victorian hospitals came within days of defaulting on payroll and creditors, an 11th-hour bailout request from the health minister shows.
A departmental brief obtained by the opposition detailed a last-minute request from Victorian health minister Mary-Anne Thomas to state treasurer Tim Pallas in June last year to secure more than $ 1 billion in extra funding.
