A Reddit user took the opportunity to revisit the previous game in this franchise and discovered a very particular weapon that should be in this sequel. Apparently, this new title lacks the Star Wars-like melee sword from the first game, which looked amazing. Players want to see this weapon in action to test its effectiveness.

This Star Wars-Like Weapon Would Be a Great Addition to Helldivers 2’s Arsenal

It’s similar to a lightsaber and qualifies as a melee weapon, something that could greatly assist players in a mission filled with bugs obstructing their path. This sword, in particular, was very effective against basic enemies.

The First Game in the Series Already Showed Great Potential

The studio has not yet provided a comment on this weapon or the reason for its absence in the second game. Now that players have found it, they eagerly anticipate its inclusion in their arsenal to test its efficiency.

In the video, this weapon doesn’t appear to be a lightsaber but rather a glowing sword. Therefore, if well implemented in the gameplay, it could even cut enemies, which players would welcome with open arms.

Although there are a few melee weapons in the overall gameplay, they are rare, so it wouldn’t hurt for the studio to consider adding more. This user’s sword would be an excellent addition to the overall gameplay.

Many players rely more on melee attacks than on using a melee weapon itself. The studio has already indicated that they will be making several changes regarding content additions in the coming months.

Helldivers 2 has not yet released a new Warbond after Viper Commandos. Their statement states that they will take longer to improve this content and will not notify the community.
