The common question lingering in players minds has been how long is Shattered Space and we have the answer. Bethesda Game Studios prides itself on making large and expansive games and the latest DLC is no exception.

However, not everyone has plenty of free time and would appreciate knowing how much time it will take to beat the newest expansion.

How Long Is Shattered Space?

Bethesda Game Studios is renowned for releasing massive expansions with decent campaign lengths rivaling the base game. The game developers celebrated the first anniversary of Starfield last month, and they decided to generate more hype for the expansion by announcing what players can expect to see, like new planets and items.

Not everyone is interested in exploring every crevice and trying to unravel every secret the developers have in store. Those who are only interested in beating the campaign will likely finish around the 10-hour range.

The expansion will take the gaming community to the distant planet of Va’Ruun’kai where players will be faced with a new series of missions. It greatly depends on how fast or well a player moves during the expansion, some players may want to take their time soaking up the beautiful sights and trying new weapons and items that would best suit their playstyle.

An expansion isn’t meant to take up a player’s time or compete with the base game; however, players can spend a decent amount of time trying new activities and content.

Director Todd Howard has a reputation for developing games longer than most gaming studios and for good reason. Howard does not like the idea of rushing a project to meet a target release window or being pressured by the gaming community. Previous games and expansions were well received and the Starfield expansion will likely have the same reception.

Completionists will likely spend longer than 10 hours to attain 100% completion. It may not be for everybody but some players will want to enjoy a game for what it is and take their time rather than rushing to beat a campaign.

To gain 100% completion, players will spend around 25-30 hours to get the full Shattered Space experience, which is not bad considering the base game had a decent campaign length of 23 hours while fully completing the game is a hefty 146 hours.

Time Is an Ally in the Latest Starfield DLC

The gaming community is known to have a short attention span, some more than others, and many refuse to invest time in anything they deem unworthy. It is a mistake to skip some optional mission or side activity that could lead to great player rewards and benefits. Carving time to stargaze and explore every square inch of the map and whatever else the game developers have worked on is a great escape.

Every gamer has a distinct playstyle and what matters is what works best for the player. There is nothing wrong with either playstyle, especially when players get to witness and experience what the developers wanted.

Players will likely be intrigued to try the new weapons and other recently added items. Using these items can take time and players will learn how to utilize them best.

Bethesda Game Studios found a way to balance story and optional side content without overwhelming the player base. Those who want a quick experience will be greatly satisfied, as will the completionists who will likely spend days and weeks finding every collectible and accomplishing side missions to ensure they see everything.
