In this process, Morgott, the Omen King, will block your path. After you beat Margit the Fell Omen in Limgrave, it’s the second time the boss will appear with a new look and more power. If you are taking him lightly because you have fought him once, shake off all the misconceptions. This time the boss will show you the most deadly side of it. 

Once you defeat this boss and unlock the lift, it will take you to the Mountaintops of the Giants, where you have to explore a lot of things, including the Rivers of Blood Katana.

How to Get the Rivers of Blood Katana in Elden Ring

Now that you have reached the Mountaintops of the Giants, start moving toward the southeast side of the region, and eventually, you will reach the Church of Repose. To make the journey smoother, first, access the Giants’ Gravepost Site of Grace, and from there keep progressing forward while sticking to the right-hand side of the cliff.

As you progress, after a while, you will spot the ruins of the Church of Repose. Keep approaching the location, and a notification will inform you that an NPC named Bloody Finger Okina will invade. Be prepared for a hard fight as the NPC will come wielding the Rivers of Blood Katana.

The Okina fight is indeed not a major one, but considering the power of the Katana, we recommend you not to take it lightly. Okina is fast and aggressive. He will use the katana often to inflict blood loss damage on players. That’s his biggest advantage and the most problematic part that players must be careful about. 

Remember, Okina has Crimson Flasks to heal himself. Therefore, as soon as he takes significant damage, he will revive his lost HP. Fortunately, during this healing process, the enemy will stop attacking and allow players to deal damage to him. Apart from that, keep running throughout the battle arena to confuse the NPC. 

Once you have defeated Okina, he will drop the Rivers of Blood Katana, along with 7000 Runes and the Okina Mask.

Rivers of Blood Katana Stats in Elden Ring

As you have reached the end of Elden Ring, you must have acquired some of the best weapons, like Ghiza’s Wheel or the Twinblade. However, Rivers of Blood Katana can surpass all of these in power, even after it went through some nerfs. This is an arcane-based sword, which requires 12 Strength, 18 Dexterity, and 20 Arcane to be wielded. The katana is scaled with all these elements, and the higher your Strength, Dexterity, and Arcane will become, the higher the damage output the katana will give. It is even great at inflicting slash and piercing damage.

While the basic skills are already enough to tackle enemies, the Rivers of Blood Katana further comes with a unique Weapon Art called the Corpse Piler. When activated, this Weapon Art will form a blade of cursed blood.
