Lead Actor of Netflix’s Best Original Film of 2024 is the Perfect Live Action Kratos If Dwayne Johnson is Out of the God of War Race

In 2019, Sony Interactive Entertainment launched PlayStation Productions with the goal of adapting the company’s video game franchises into films and television shows. So far, we’ve got two films from the studio while many others are in development. As many of Sony’s franchises are getting adapted, there is one that most fans would like to see on the big screen: God of War.

Recently, a fan-made trailer went viral on YouTube which showcased actor Dwayne Johnson as Kratos, sparking debates on social media over his casting in the upcoming rumored movie. As of now, there are no official statements from Sony but if they actually plan on creating a movie based on the franchise then there is one more actor that they should definitely consider: Aaron Pierre.

Aaron Pierre Could Be Perfect For The Role Of Kratos In A God of War Movie

A lot of rumors about a potential God of War movie have been surfacing on social media over the past few months. It’s no secret that Sony has been trying to create a movie based on the beloved franchise for many years now but this time, there is a lot more buzz about it.

Actor Dwayne Johnson‘s name has been linked to the role as a fan-made trailer recently showcased him as Kratos. On top of this, many rumors claim that he has been hired to play the role in Amazon’s God of War TV show, however, the creator of the game series, Cory Barlog responded to the rumors claiming that he has “literally never heard anything about this,” so if Johnson is out of the race, we have another name that is perfect for this role.

Aaron Pierre‘s performance in 2024’s Rebel Ridge was exceptional and fans are eager to see more of him in the future. Rebel Ridge has received a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, a 77% on Metacritic, and a 7/10 on IMDb. There has been some criticism about the film’s runtime and plot but everyone will agree that Pierre’s performance uplifted the entire movie. With this movie, he certainly proved that he has what it takes to be one of the best Hollywood stars.

In the past, he has delivered some solid performances in movies like Brother (2022) and Foe (2023). Initially, Pierre also joined the cast of Marvel’s upcoming superhero film Blade, however, he revealed earlier this year that he is no longer a part of that project.

This is the perfect opportunity to hire this actor as Kratos as we believe that he will not butcher the fan-favorite character. Movie or TV show, Sony should definitely consider him for the role.

What Can We Expect From Amazon’s God of War TV Show?

Not much is known about the God of War movie at the moment, but some solid information about Amazon’s God of War TV series has been revealed. In 2022, a user on Resetera revealed that Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO, Jim Ryan, confirmed that the series is in development.

Eventually, more information was revealed as Amazon Studios’ Head of Television, Vernon Sanders, explained that the series would be “incredibly true” to the video games. Amazon did a great job with its last video game adaptation, Fallout, so the expectations are quite high.

As of now, we don’t have a release date for the series but rumors suggest that it will not be released anytime before late 2027. As for the movie, Sony still hasn’t confirmed anything but if they do, let’s hope that they approach Aaron Pierre.
