Microsoft Keeps Losing Ground in Their Own Homefield as Xbox Game Pass Looses 6 More Titles Over the Weekend, Including Fan-Favorites

Xbox Game Pass has always been a treat for all the fans of this long-hailed console company. This subscription service is a great way to enjoy the latest AAA titles as well as classic games, but without actually owning them. Not only that, with this subscription service, you can also avail the multiplayer aspects of the games.

Xbox has a huge library with tons of gaming titles in it. So, it’s impossible to fit in all the titles in the Gam Pass catalog at once. That is why, like the previous months, several titles bid adieu to the subscription service yesterday, which will hurt the fans a lot.

6 Titles Are Gone From Xbox Game Pass

After a disappointing August, when a total of seven titles departed, and only six were added, September might be going to repeat the same as well. Yesterday that meant on September 15th, a total of six titles made their way out of the Game Pass catalog. Now, the saddest part is that four of these six titles are day-one releases. The six titles are:

  • Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation
  • FIFA 23
  • Payday 3
  • Slime Rancher 2
  • SpiderHeck
  • You Suck at Parking

Among these titles, Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation, Slime Rancher 2, SpiderHeck, and You Suck at Parking were added in September 2022. Whereas FIFA 23 and Payday 3 were added in May 2023 and September 2023 respectively. So, many games on this list have made a year or two on the catalog.

Microsoft generally removes games from the XGP catalog every two weeks. For example, on the final day of the previous month, the company removed three highly popular titles from its subscription service: NBA 2K24, Atomic Heart, and Guilty Gear Strive. Now consecutive departures of two of the most iconic sports simulation franchises is surely a big blow to the fans.

Which new games are available in Xbox Game Pass in September?

In the beginning of September, Xbox announced the first batch of the games, which is coming to the Gam Pass catalog. Unlike the previous two months, there will be no Activision title this month.

September’s additions are primarily catering to the fans of sim games and real-time strategy nerds. Here are the announced titles:

  • Star Trucker (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 3
  • Age of Mythology: Retold (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) – September 4
  • Expeditions: A MudRunner Game (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 5
  • Riders Republic (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 11
  • Train Sim World 5 (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 17

Besides new games, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers are getting a lot of bonus perks, like cosmetics for live service games, expansion of existing titles, and a lot more. In this month, subscribers will be enjoying the following perks:

  • 10% discount Dead by Daylight: Castlevania (DLC)
  • Ark: Survival Ascended Aberration for Free
  • Predecessor: Ready for Action Bundle
  • Metaball: Police Pack
  • EA Sports NHL 24: Starter Pack
  • MultiVersus: MVP Pack 2

The departure of those six titles is going to hurt the Xbox fans a lot, as most of them were highly popular and fan-favorites. However, Xbox tried to compensate for the loss with four new titles and some unique perks for the Ultimate subscribers.

What’s your opinion on these departures? Let us know your views in the comment section.
