Nedlands to establish ‘concept forum’ in bid by mayor to ban fossil fuel advertising

The City of Nedlands is entering the realm of fossil fuel regulation by setting up a forum to investigate advertising and sponsorship controls for coal, oil, and gas companies.

The proposal, led by mayor Fiona Argyle, could eventually lead to a ban on fossil fuel company advertising — which Ms Argyle said would align with the city’s commitment to addressing climate change and show greater support for clean energy and sustainable development.
