Peter Dutton has defended his nuclear power push against a barrage of critical analysis that claims it could cause mass blackouts and send household electricity bills skyrocketing — including by $742 in WA.

As the Opposition leader prepares to flesh out the economic case for nuclear in a major speech on Monday, Mr Dutton’s vision to build reactors at seven sites nationwide, including at Collie, is under renewed attack from Labor and clean energy groups.
