Perth firm NGIS nabs role saving forests in European Union’s crackdown on coffee giants

A low-key Perth tech firm has caught a lucrative wave of work verifying ‘deforestation-free’ coffee for Italian giants Lavazza and Illy, who are bound by looming laws that could eventually apply to mining.

NGIS started plotting in-depth digital maps for the likes of Wesfarmers and Rio Tinto some three decades ago, and has since carved a finer niche with companies trying to operate more sustainably.
