Dual Brisbane premiership ruckman Beau McDonald has backed Darcy Fort to have a big influence as Oscar McInerney’s replacement during Saturday’s grand final, saying nullifying Swans star Brodie Grundy will be enough to give his team an advantage.
McInerney was ruled out of the grand final on Tuesday after dislocating his shoulder during the preliminary final. McDonald has been in McInerney’s shoes after dislocating his shoulder in the 2002 preliminary final before getting cleared to play in the grand final and then breaking down in the opening minutes.
