Qantas flight emergency: Plane diverted to Rockhampton after in-air incident
A Qantas flight has been diverted after an in-air incident prevented the plane from flying at normal heights.
The plane took off from Townsville and was travelling to Brisbane before an issue arose.
Flight data for flight QF 1871 shows the plane descended 20,000 feet in a matter of minutes before it continued to fly at 10,000 feet, suggesting a pressurisation issue had occurred.
The flight was diverted to Rockhampton, the nearest airport, and requested a priority landing.
The flight has now landed safely.
A Qantas spokeswoman told 7NEWS.com.au that passengers would be put on flights this morning to Brisbane.
More to come…
